Hello, my name is Gordon Lawry, an author and retired Navy pilot. My father was an excellent sketch artist and a career Air Force pilot. I am also the father of two wonderful daughters. When they were children, I delighted in seeing their faces light up as I read them classic children’s books like Goodnight Moon, The Giving Tree, and Sleepy Ella. Their sense of joy and wonderment helped inspire me to pursue writing myself. I always had a whimsical and vivid imagination but never had the time or opportunity to explore or develop any artistic inclinations. Writing children’s books is the perfect creative outlet. Now, in this new phase of life, I take great joy in writing to share my faith and the immense gratitude for the beautiful life God has given me.

I also write to support my illustrator and her family, who are political refugees in Europe fleeing war in their home country. Now, as a grandfather, I am often entertaining my 8-year-old grandson, so storytelling and writing have become a larger part of my life. By writing wholesome, fun, and uplifting stories, I hope to spread delight and joy on the faces and in the lives of children everywhere.
